An exceptional and exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Nurse leader to join Specialist surgical services in Morriston hospital with a specific focus on patient safety, quality, and experience.
We are looking for a strong and inspirational nurse leader who can bring the insight and skills related to working in a busy and diverse Division. The role also offers a unique opportunity for a Senior Nurse to develop their career with the guidance and support of a patient focused senior leadership team.

Main duties of the job
Specialist surgical services is a varied division based at Morriston hospital. This post would work closely with the current 8b within the division. Specialist surgical services cover Cardiac regional services both cardiology and cardiothoracic surgery. There are also regional services such as Burns and Plastics, Dermatology and a busy General ICU. It is a large division which covers a number of specialist teams, inpatient areas outpatient areas and day treatment units.
We are looking for someone who has a proven track record and substantial experience in the care of patients in busy acute settings and significant experience in a senior nurse leadership role. You should be able to demonstrate dynamic, inspirational and compassionate leadership skills to help us meet the local and national challenges of the services.

Essential Qualifications & Knowledge
Essential criteria
1. Registered Nurse Level 1 (Active NMC Registration) Educated to Degree level
2. Relevant Master’s Degree or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of knowledge, skills and experience
3. Recognised management qualification or equivalent demonstrable experience
4. Improving Quality Together - Silver IQT
5. Knowledge of Safeguarding Adults/Children including the Mental Health Act and Mental Capacity Act and Deprivation of Liberty Safeguards, quality improvement methodologies, of current policy and issues in professional practice, compliance, standards and the wider NHS
Essential Experience

6. Experience of clinical leadership at a senior management level. Financial management experience including evidence of delivery within budgets and time scales. Direct experience of major service and organisation change. Proven track record in practice development. Experience of leading and managing service development and evidence of achieving improvement.
