The Role
We are currently looking for a Senior Mechanical Maintenance Engineer to fill a hybrid role, providing technical support and leading field based drilling equipment maintenance projects. This role is suited to an experienced, hands on mechanical professional with strong leadership skills and proven experience servicing mechanical and hydraulic drilling equipment including top drives, pipe handling equipment, drawworks and mud pumps.
This is a hybrid role where the candidate will work from home, from the office and in the field as projects require. Relevant experience is essential.
Responsibilities
* Lead drilling equipment service projects
* Lead field based maintenance teams
* Prepare project work packs including work instructions
* Lead equipment disassembly and inspection
* Deliver high quality inspection reports and documentation
* Review inspection outputs and make recommendations
* Instruct and supervise third party repair vendors
* Lead equipment reassembly and testing
* Provide technical support and troubleshoot equipment faults
* Understand and meet customer requirements
* Mentor and develop team members
* Comply with quality management processes
* Comply with health, safety and environmental policies
Requirements
Education & training:
* Mechanical maintenance degree or practical qualification
* NOV or other drilling equipment maintenance training
* Offshore training and survival certificates
Technical requirements:
* Expert drilling equipment systems knowledge
* Expert hands on mechanical maintenance knowledge and technical skills
* Ability to read, interpret and instruct others with engineering drawings
* Strong planning and problem solving skills
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills
* Confident user or IT and web based applications
Experience:
* Minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role
* Experience leading field and/or facility based maintenance of drilling equipment including top drives, pipe handling equipment, drawworks and mud pumps is essential
