About the role
At Anglian Water, we’re working today to meet tomorrow’s biggest challenges – securing water supplies for future generations, adapting to climate change, achieving net zero, and protecting our environment. We are looking for an Interface Engineer who can bridge the gap between design, delivery and day‑to‑day operations.
This role supports the development and delivery of the Strategic Pipeline and other Water Resource Management Plan (WRMP) Capital Delivery Projects. You will work closely with Anglian Water operational teams, the SPA, and @One Design & Delivery teams to support design development and to mitigate risks to AW operations from construction works. The scope covers WRMP19 (AMP7) and WRMP24 (AMP8) projects.
Key responsibilities
* Support delivery of projects and assure project teams that they do not cause adverse customer, environmental or operational impacts by producing impact plans and communicating them clearly. Verify mitigation measures before and during delivery.
* Balance operational and project delivery needs, promoting collaboration between operational and SPA teams.
* Assist design teams by gathering information and providing operational expertise to assess whether the design meets AW safety, maintenance and control requirements.
* Participate in design reviews, HAZOPS, site hygiene visits, and progress meetings with operational and project stakeholders to support effective delivery.
Essential skills and experience
* Proactive, collaborative and approachable with excellent communication skills.
* Planning and organisational skills, demonstrating meeting key programme milestones.
* Operational experience to aid delivery teams in developing design and constructability of assets.
* Ensuring operational teams are appropriately included in developments of existing and new assets.
* Capture and embed best practice and lessons learned into future work activities.
* Excellent understanding of Health & Safety, Environment and Customer Service, ensuring these are central to all work.
Benefits
* Personal private health care
* Company car allowance (based on a 9,000-mile minimum requirement)
* Life cover – 8× annual salary
* 26 days holiday plus bank holidays (with flexibility for religious holidays)
* Flexible and hybrid working options
* Competitive pension scheme – double‑match contributions up to 6%
* Annual bonus scheme and lifestyle benefits
* Opportunities for professional growth and specialist training
