Our Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineers are responsible for the implementation and operation of secure and highly available computing platforms, products, and networks. They build, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve DWP's cloud infrastructure and services.

We are looking for a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.

What skills, knowledge, and experience will you need?
You will have demonstrable experience of building and running systems in the following areas:
* Azure Networking (VNETs, Peering, DNS, etc.)
* Developing and supporting cloud-based applications (Azure)
* Implementing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines using Gitlab, Azure DevOps, or equivalent
* Writing and maintaining Infrastructure as Code using Terraform, Python, or equivalent
* Knowledge and interest in developing Kubernetes/Containers skills
* Identifying and automating toil to improve efficiency, increase reliability, and reduce repetitive manual tasks
Your role
As a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer, you will work in an agile multidisciplinary team building and operating products and services used by DWP Digital.
You will have a deep understanding of cloud tools and technologies, especially around infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD pipelines, and cloud networking.
You will also appreciate information security, designing solutions and services with security controls embedded, specifically engineered as mitigation against security threats as a core part of the solutions and services.
There are line-management responsibilities; you will need to provide technical support and assistance to junior team members.

Location: You'll join us in one of our digital hubs in Blackpool, Leeds, Manchester, Newcastle, or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face-to-face in a hub.
Pay: Up to £68,517.
Pension: Civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, over £16,000 per year.
Holidays: Starting at 26 days, rising to 31 days over time, plus up to 3 extra days off a month on flexi-time and public holidays.
