I am excited to announce a recruitment opportunity for a Band 7 medical prescriber/Advanced Clinical Practitioner to join the team.Our client provides the NHS111 and Out of Hours GP service to over million patients across Hertfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Bedfordshire, West Essex and the South West of England.
The Advanced Clinical Practitioner plays a pivotal role in delivering high-quality, patient-centred care in a dynamic healthcare environment. As an experienced clinician, you will assess, diagnose, and manage a wide range of acute and chronic conditions while integrating evidence-based treatments and holistic patient care. Working autonomously and collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, you will contribute to improving patient oues by providing expert clinical decision-making, advanced diagnostic skills, and proactive management of long-term health conditions.
This role requires a strongmitment to patient advocacy, health promotion, and preventive care. You will engage inplex clinical assessments, prescribe treatments, and offer expert guidance on medication management, vaccinations, and lifestyle interventions. Additionally, you will support patients in self-care, mental health management, and urgent medical situations, ensuring seamless, efficient, andpassionate healthcare delivery.Your new role
1. Clinical Decision-Making – Perform in-depth physiological and psychological assessments, prioritising urgent andplex cases while providing emergency care when needed.
2. Medication Management – Prescribe, review, and advise on medications, ensuring safe and effective use in line with best practices and national guidelines.
3. Health Promotion & Preventive Care – Support patients in adopting healthy lifestyles, participate in vaccination programs, and provide family planning, sexual health, and wound care services.
4. Mental Health Support – Identify, assess, and refer patients with mental health concerns, ensuring they receive appropriate care and intervention.
5. Collaborative & Evidence-Based Practice – Work within a multidisciplinary team to provide integrated, patient-focused care, contributing to clinicalernance and service improvements.
What you'll need to succeedEssential criteria
6. NMC Registered Nurse/HCPC Registered Paramedic
7. MSc in Advanced Clinical Practice or equivalent credentialing
8. Minor illness (university accredited)
9. Minor Injury (university accredited)
10. Prescribing certificate
11. Triage/streaming experience
12. Evidence of working with a variety of patients presenting with acute and chronic condition of any age.
13. Experience of working as a team leader
14. Demonstrate working within the 4 pillars of advanced practice
Desirable criteria
15. Experience managing end-of-life care patients, including prescribing/administering medications such as Just in Case medications
16. Experience in Family Planning
17. Experience in managing chronic condition
18. Experience of working in an Emergency Department /UTC / GP
19. Evidence of audit or research experience
20. Experience in reviewing x-ray
