Job Summary
To work as an autonomous practitioner, responsible for the provision of medical services to the practice population, delivering an excellent standard of clinical care whilst complying with the contract.
Main Duties
* Deliver effective medical care to the entitled population.
* Provide services in accordance with the primary care contract.
* Prescribe generically in line with local and national guidance.
* Manage long‑term conditions and complete administrative tasks such as referrals and repeat prescription requests.
* On a rotational basis, undertake triage, evening clinics and duty doctor roles.
* Complete home visits where required.
* Maintain accurate clinical records following practice policy and guidance.
* Accept an equal share of the full practice workload.
* Adhere to best practice recommended through clinical guidelines.
* Contribute to continuous improvement and quality initiatives.
* Accept delegated responsibility for specific areas such as QOF, QAZI, IIF, LES and other contracted areas when needed.
* Attend and contribute effectively to practice meetings.
* Support staff and participate in training and development activities.
* Maintain compliance with appraisal and revalidation processes.
* Support the practice by taking on additional duties and roles, including non‑clinical and clinical staff development, and lead roles for staff support and personal development.

Clinical knowledge and skills (Essential)
* Outstanding level of clinical knowledge and skills of an experienced GP.
* Excellent communication skills (written and oral).
* Strong IT skills and competent use of Office and Outlook.
* Experience with Office (SystmOne) and effective time management.
* Ability to work independently and as a team member.
* Excellent interpersonal skills and problem‑solving ability.
* Experience with audit programmes and clinical risk management.
Qualifications (Essential)
* Qualified GP, MRCGP, Vocational Training Certificate or equivalent JCPTGP, General Practitioner (Certificate of Completion of Training CCT), Full GMC registration.

Experience (Essential)
* Experience working in a primary care environment and continuous professional development.
* Experience with QOF, clinical audit and at least two years as a salaried GP.
* General understanding of the primary care contract.
* National Performers List registration (England) and equivalents for Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland.
* Appropriate defence indemnity (MPS/MDU), current validation, last appraisal evidence and eligibility to practice in the UK independently.
Desirable
* Experience of medicines management.
* Experience of ICB initiatives.
