Job Title: Construction Operative / Maintenance Operative Location: Mansfield Sectors: Construction Building Maintenance & Repair, Slab Laying, Fence Erecting Job Type: Contract Role Duration: 6-month contract Pay Rate : £13.00 to £14.00 Per Hour (PAYE RATE) - Negotiable based on level of experience Umbrella payment also available for this contract. Umbrella pay rates can be provided. Our client is looking for a Construction Operative / Maintenance Operative to carry out general maintenance tasks across council buildings and assets across Mansfield, a manual roles that will include building repairs, slab laying, fence erecting and other similar maintenance activities. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that all maintenance work is completed to a high standard, maintaining the safety, security and functionality of council properties. The role requires physical fitness and the ability to perform manual labour tasks safely and efficiently. You will work both independently and as part of a team, supporting the upkeep and repair of a range of facilities and infrastructure and the role will suit a reliable and hardworking individual. Daily duties will include but are not limited to: Carry out general building repairs and maintenance tasks Laying slabs and erecting fences as required Assist with routine inspections and reporting any issues Maintain a clean and safe working environment Support other trades and maintenance staff as needed Use hand and power tools safely and effectively Follow health and safety guidelines and procedures at all times Candidates will ideally: Have proven experience working in similar general maintenance and manual construction roles Hold a CSCS Card (Ideally) Have PPE including hard hat, high vis and safety boots Have basic skills in construction including building repairs, slab laying, and fence erecting Be reliable and adaptable, able to work within a team and assist with AdHoc tasks Be able to perform physically demanding tasks Be able to use a range of hand and power tools Have good working knowledge of Health & Safety, both independently and as part of a team For more information and to apply for this role, please contact Tim Smyth on 0121 200 5520.
