A global provider of technical services are looking for a Business Development Manager with solid knowledge and hands-on experience in the medical device certification landscape. The ideal candidate will excel at managing both new and existing accounts, building strong relationships with stakeholders at multiple levels through in-person meetings and ongoing client engagement.
The Business Development Manager will independently manage sales activities within the UK market, with a focus on driving growth in medical device certification services. The position involves proactive outreach to potential clients as well as nurturing existing relationships. You will oversee your own portfolio and be responsible for meeting revenue targets within the defined service framework.
Responsibilities:
* Manage the full business cycle from initial inquiry to quotation and final order processing
* Drive sales initiatives targeting clients within the MedTech sector to support overall business growth
* Conduct in-person client visits and perform outbound outreach, including cold calling, to build and sustain relationships
* Guide opportunities from initial lead through to contract completion
* Respond promptly to new client inquiries related to medical device services
* Collaborate with colleagues across different business units and European regions to maximize sales potential
* Maintain accountability for your assigned client portfolio
* Prepare proposals, support contract creation, and deliver accurate sales forecasting and reporting
* Maintain accurate records within the CRM and related systems
* Represent the medical device certification team as a brand ambassador
* Contribute to the development of sales strategies and ensure compliance with applicable service-offering guidelines
Requirements:
* Understanding of medical device certification processes
* Experience within Life Sciences, preferably in the MedTech sector
* Strong consultative selling and relationship-building abilities
* Business partnership and account-management skills
* Confidence in presenting to senior decision-makers
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills
* Fluent English
* Outgoing, energetic, and skilled at establishing and maintaining professional relationships
* Highly proactive, target-oriented, and motivated to drive new opportunities
* Familiarity with Medical Device Regulation (MDR) is a plus
* Experience selling services or solutions to manufacturing organizations
* Background in a related field (e.g., certification, assurance, pharmaceuticals, biotechnology, medical devices)
* Strong customer service mindset and effective team collaboration skills
