Job Description — Proposal details: Proposed Interview Date: Week Commencing Monday 8 September 2025; Closing Date: Wednesday 3 September 2025; Contract Type: Temporary until 3 July 2026; Salary: £33,594 to £50,589 (pro rata); Working Pattern: 35 hours per week; Location: Beath High School, Cowdenbeath.

Job Purpose and Responsibilities
We are looking for a highly-skilled teacher who is passionate about improving life chances for all through a professional commitment to making a difference for all children and young people so that they achieve their full potential. As a teacher in Fife you will be responsible for leading learning within your classroom context, promoting inclusion, diversity and equality, communicating with other stakeholders and contributing to wider improvements across the school community.

Qualification, Registration and Skills
You are required to have high levels of interpersonal skills and abilities to work as part of a team to ensure positive outcomes for all children and young people in your setting. You must demonstrate a commitment to your own professional learning and career-long professional development, and you must obtain Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme membership through Disclosure Scotland before appointment. Full GTCS registration is required; for Primary posts, GTCS registration in Primary; for Secondary posts, GTCS registration in the relevant subject. All permanent posts require full registration; for temporary posts provisional GTCS registration may be considered. If you hold GTCS registration in Further Education you must also hold Primary or Secondary registration as determined by Fife Council. For teaching specific subjects you must be fully registered with GTCS to teach those subjects.
