Project Four Safety are specialists in Construction Health & Safety, BSA and CDM services, and we are looking for an experienced CDM Principal Designer to join our North West team. The role gives you the opportunity to take real ownership of design safety across a range of construction projects. You will work closely with clients and design teams, helping them identify and manage health and safety risks before work reaches site. Your guidance will shape safer project outcomes and position you as a trusted advisor throughout the design process. If you enjoy influencing projects early, building strong relationships and helping teams make better safety decisions, this role will give you the platform to do exactly that.
Responsibilities
* Lead the design safety process and ensure projects meet CDM Regulations
* Help clients and design teams identify risks early, preventing issues later in construction
* Work alongside architects, engineers and consultants to develop safe and practical design solutions
* Prepare and maintain important documentation including:
* Pre‑construction information
* Design risk assessments
* Health and safety files
* Visit sites when needed to make sure designs support safe construction
* Guide project teams on CDM requirements and effective safety practices
* Your work will directly influence how safely projects are delivered

Qualifications
* Around 5 years’ experience as a CDM Principal Designer or in a similar role
* Strong knowledge of CDM Regulations and related legislation
* The confidence to guide clients and design teams on health and safety matters
* Strong communication skills and a practical approach to managing risk
* Most importantly, you enjoy helping teams deliver safer projects
