Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) | Burton (DE11) | £110-£130 per day | Full Time | Interviews Commencing ASAP
Long Term Futures are currently seeking a confident and experienced Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to join a specialist SEN setting based in the Burton (DE11) area.
This is a varied and highly rewarding role, suited to someone who is proactive, resilient, and able to take a lead in supporting students aged 11-16 with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs) within a structured and supportive environment.
About the Role:
* Lead small group sessions and deliver pre-planned lessons in the absence of the teacher
* Engage and motivate students to support their learning and development
* Demonstrate a strong understanding of the care and learning needs of students with SEN
* Implement targeted interventions to meet individual student needs
* Work collaboratively with teachers, professionals, and families to deliver personalised learning plans
* Provide 1:1 and small group support for pupils with learning difficulties
* Support classroom management and contribute to a positive learning environment
About You:
* HLTA qualification or equivalent experience within a school setting
* Experience supporting pupils with additional needs, particularly SEN, autism, and complex behaviours
* Strong behaviour management skills and the confidence to lead groups independently
* A calm, patient, and adaptable approach to challenges
* A genuine passion for helping young people succeed academically and personally
* Strong communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
