Overview
Senior Support Worker role at CareTech, Torquay, United Kingdom. The Cambian Group is the largest independent provider of care and education for children and young people. This role is full-time and permanent, with a 40-hour workweek.
Salary: £14.17 - £14.99 per hour. Location: Torquay. Shift pattern: 16–24 hour shifts (including Sleep-in) on a one on two off or two on four off basis. Working hours per week: 40.
Responsibilities
* Leading shifts and deputising for the Registered Manager where required.
* Ensuring that Residential Care Workers are up to date with mandatory learning and assisting with their development.
* Communicating with the on-site team and raising awareness of individual care plans and their implementation.
* Maintaining accurate written records in logs, continuation sheets and files to record information and enable monitoring and evaluation.
* Contributing to team and staff meetings to facilitate communication and staff development.
* Providing support and care to the young people within our services.
* Encouraging young people in their preparation to re-enter education or engage in current schooling.
* Traveling with young people to and from School or College.
* Preparing meals and maintaining the home environment (cleaning, laundry, etc.).
* Organising and facilitating social activities.
Requirements / Qualifications
* Must hold a full UK driving licence.
* Desire to earn a Level 3 Diploma in Residential Childcare or equivalent for Children & Younger People’s workforce.
* 12 months of senior experience in a Residential setting is highly desirable; applications from those at the start of their journey are encouraged.
* DBS and reference checks will be undertaken in line with government regulations and safer recruitment best practice.
