Job summary An exciting opportunity has become available for a motivated and enthusiastic Specialist Physiotherapist to join the stroke therapy service at Peterborough City Hospital. The overall stroke pathway comprises of a HASU and ASU at Peterborough City Hospital and acute beds at Hinchingbrooke Hospital. The position is mainly at Peterborough City Hospital however flexibility will be required to provide cross-site cover. The successful applicant will manage a varied and complex clinical caseload and be able to provide person-centred evidence-based stroke rehabilitation.The successful candidate will be expected to participate in the supervision, development and training of students, registered staff and support workers. They will also be involved in service development and clinical audit. Regular supervision, training and development opportunities will be provided to ensure personal career development. Weekend and bank holiday working will be required. There will be a practical element to the interview so candidates will need to be available to attend for a face to face interview at Peterborough City Hospital. This post can be filled by either an Occupational Therapist or Physio Therapist Interviews for this role will be conducted in person to assess relevant skills effectively. Main duties of the job To enable Physiotherapy to provide Therapy Skills within the inpatient stroke service To ensure safe, efficient and effective delivery of patient focussed care in line with identified evidence based practice, local and national standards To work collaboratively within Multidisciplinary and Multi-agency Teams To participate in delegated projects for service development with the team To act autonomously in the assessment and treatment of patients within the speciality who may have a complex presentation To demonstrate a flexible approach to working in support of the whole in patient/out patient team To undertake weekend working as required within service developments To be available to provide Clinical Supervision This role entails 80% Clinical Contact and 20% Operational Management as appropriate within team requirements To guide Band 5 and support staff in the management and delivery of therapeutic care plans About us Priority will be given to colleagues identified as at risk through the Trust's redeployment process.
