Role: Technical Project Manager / Engineering Coordinator - Hinkley C Nuclear Power Station project Location: Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UF) - 3 days/week on site, 2 days from home Salary: £45000 - 60000 travel allowance Start: May 2026 onwards Morson Edge are delighted to present and exciting opportunity for a Technical Project Manager / Project Coordinator to work as a Building Coordinator in support of EDFs Hinkley C nuclear power station construction project. The position offers an outstanding opportunity for a project engineer / manager with a good technical background and a few years experience looking to take the next step in their career, though candidates with more experience will be happily considered. The position will be based at the Hinkley C site near Bridgwater, Somerset (TA5 1UD) 3 days/week, with the rest worked from home. Candidates will be required to obtain nuclear site security clearance for this role. Whilst prior nuclear industry experience would be advantageous, the client will happy consider candidates with a strong background supporting other large, complex, multidisciplinary construction projects (e.g. oil and gas, power, defence, marine, etc). Role Duties and Responsibilities This role will be base within the HPC Joint Design Office (JDO). The JDO plays a crucial role in the project by providing technical support and managing the resolution of technical issues during construction. The JDO is responsible for producing or updating documentation, managing design changes, and ensuring compliance with regulatory and safety standards. It is a collaborative team led by the HPC Client, alongside EPR-e and key contractors, working to resolve layout challenges and ensure the projects success. As the Building Coordinator, youll be the driving force behind ensuring the successful completion of all pending tasks and construction updates within your assigned buildings. Collaborating closely with the JDO Area Lead, as well as the Designer and Construction teams, youll play a pivotal role in keeping projects on track and in line with the defined schedule. Responsibilities will include: Lead coordination efforts among engineers from multi-disciplined technical teams Utilise key performance indicators (KPIs) and reporting mechanisms to monitor JDOs performance across designated buildings. Look for and define opportunities to implement and improve processes and ways of working. Ensure timely delivery of all design and construction changes to meet the demands of construction. Participate in readiness reviews of Design Packages before construction, as requested by design owners. Collaborate closely with Design teams, Contractors, and Construction teams to uphold technical quality standards, construction schedules, and safety protocols. Provide proactive updates to the JDO Area Lead and Engineering Manager regarding risks and facilitate swift resolution of any emerging issues. Qualifications, Skills and Experience Degree in Engineering (preferably Civil, Mechanical or Electrical) or equivalent along with relevant experience in this field. Specifically in large (multi-billion £) multi-discipled engineering projects, working in a variety of different capacities. Familiarity with Contract Management, coupled with a talent for maintaining accurate records, is essential Ability to spot procedural improvements and resolve low-complexity issues Able to define your own targets and draft action plans to achieve specific project objectives, leveraging your existing skills and experience. Proactive with the ability to work independently Excel at planning effective implementations under broad supervision.
