Description
In this apprenticeship you will maintain and improve a range of complex automated equipment, learning practical skills such as fault diagnosis, preventative maintenance, fluid power systems, hydraulics, pneumatics, electrical wiring, testing and PLC operations. The role blends on‑the‑job training with industry‑recognised study to produce a qualification in Mechatronics Maintenance.
Key responsibilities
* Carry out proactive and preventative maintenance.
* Perform reactive repairs and diagnose faults in a live distribution warehouse.
* Use the latest tools to maximise equipment effectiveness.
* Make modifications and upgrades to existing equipment.
* Uphold health and safety policies and practices.
* Contribute to continuous improvement projects.
Basic Qualifications
* UK national, or non‑UK national with right to work in the UK, or EU national with settled status and 3 years residency in the UK or EEA before August 2026.
* Will be resident of the UK for the entire duration of the programme.
* Will be 18 years old or older before August 2026.
* Have a minimum of 3 Scottish National 5 grades at C or above in Maths, English and a science/technology subject.
* Must not already have a qualification at the same or higher level in this apprenticeship’s subject area.
* Will have little or no prior knowledge/experience of the occupation.
Preferred Qualifications
* 5 Scottish National 5 Grades at C or above (including Maths, English and a science/technology subject).
* Studying towards or achieved Scottish Highers or Advanced Highers in an Engineering subject or a bias towards science & technology.

Candidates must provide proof of all required qualifications by 17 July 2026. Failure to provide proof by the deadline will result in withdrawal of any conditional offer.
