The Opportunity
Teaching Personnel Newcastle is recruiting on behalf of a well-regarded secondary school seeking an enthusiastic Teacher of English to join their team. You will be responsible for delivering both English Language and English Literature across Key Stages 3 and 4, helping students develop essential literacy skills while encouraging a deeper understanding and appreciation of texts.
Your Role Will Include
* Delivering engaging and structured English lessons that challenge and motivate learners
* Supporting students in developing analytical, writing, and comprehension skills
* Tracking student performance and implementing strategies to support progress
* Creating a positive and respectful learning environment
* Working collaboratively with colleagues within the English department
* Contributing to extracurricular activities such as reading clubs or revision sessions
We Are Looking For
* A qualified teacher with QTS (or equivalent)
* A strong academic background in English or a related discipline
* The ability to engage and inspire students of varying abilities
* Effective behaviour management skills
* A proactive and reflective approach to teaching
* Commitment to continuous professional development
