Job Purpose
* To support the Team Manager in leading and managing a Family Support Team focused on child protection and court work. The Deputy Team Manager will ensure high-quality service delivery, safeguarding children and young people, and promoting their welfare in line with statutory responsibilities and best practice.
Key Duties/Accountabilities
* Assist the Team Manager in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the team.
* Supervise and support social workers and other staff in complex child protection and court cases.
* Ensure timely and effective assessments, interventions, and care planning.
* Monitor performance and quality assurance, ensuring compliance with legislation, policies, and procedures.
* Attend and contribute to strategy meetings, case conferences, and court proceedings.
* Provide reflective supervision and promote continuous professional development.
* Support the implementation of service improvements and practice development.
Essential Experience Required
* Significant post-qualification experience in children’s social care, particularly in child protection and court work.
* Proven experience of supervising or mentoring staff.
* Strong understanding of statutory frameworks, including the Children Act, Working Together to Safeguard Children, and Public Law Outline (PLO).
Essential Qualification Required
* Degree in Social Work or equivalent qualification.
* Registration with Social Work England.

* Working hours: 37 hours per week
