Required as soon as possible Reference: 0633 West Suffolk Council is looking for a Landlord Liaison Officer (Maternity/Paternity Cover) who is passionate about homelessness to join our team and tackle what is one of the biggest challenges in our society: the challenge to help people find and retain a home. This role involves undertaking specialist or technical activities to place those at risk of homelessness into suitable private rented accommodation, to reduce the number of people placed in temporary accommodation. What you will need: You must have experience of working with the general public, be a team player with well-developed communication and written skills and be able to understand and implement housing law and policies. Knowledge of current Housing, welfare benefits system, legislation and regulations is essential. Your duties will include: ensuring appropriate housing availability in the private rented sector and matching accommodation to applicants to meet their needs including ensuring affordability viewing and inspecting potential properties and negotiate with landlords to build a portfolio of available properties.
