Exhall Grange is a 4-19 school which provides a nurturing environment and meets the needs of children and young people with: • Social, Communication and Interaction difficulties including Autism • Social, Emotional and Mental Health needs • Physical difficulties • Sensory impairment • Complex medical needs About Exhall Grange Specialist School: Many of our children and young people are physically or emotionally extremely vulnerable or have life limiting conditions. Some of our pupils are highly anxious and require our calm, predictable and nurturing environment in order to access school. All pupils follow the National Curriculum at a level appropriate to their ability and needs. This is as important to us as the academic and vocational curriculum. The site is campus style with six separate buildings and has an exceptional range of facilities including a swimming pool, gym, sensory room, soft playroom and enterprise kitchen as well as design technology facilities and science laboratories. About the Job: We are seeking to appoint a Cleaner(s) to join our dedicated team of individuals who are responsible for maintaining the high standards of cleanliness across our school premises. We are currently looking to fill 20 hours of cleaning work per week. Our preferred approach is to recruit two staff members, each working 10 hours per week. However, if we are unable to recruit two suitable candidates, we are open to offering the full 20 hours to one individual. If you are interested in either option, we encourage you to apply and indicate your preferred working hours in your application. Your working hours will be undertaken Monday to Friday, between the hours of 15.30 – 19.30 pm during term-time and your contract will include working an additional 10 days per year during the holiday periods. These holiday days are set in advance and can be undertaken during the hours of 07.00 am until 15.30 pm. If you are working 2 hours per day, your actual start time will be agreed with you before your start date. The actual salary for this role is £ 5,795.49 per annum for 10 hours per week and £ 11,591.00 per annum for working 20 hours per week. There are no formal qualifications required for this role, however there is an expectation that you will:- • have basic literacy and numeracy skills to be able to read instructions and work out simple measurements • be able to operate equipment and use materials • understand and be able to work to procedures, follow straightforward instructions and read labels • understand and operate within regulations, including COSHH regulations • be able to communicate with colleagues and other staff members • be prepared to undertake necessary training required for this role. You will have the opportunity to work within this unique Specialist Provision. You will become a valued member of an encouraging and friendly staff group.
