Yokogawa UK has a key opportunity for a highly motivated Buyer to join our existing talented team. You will be a confident communicator and a positive self-starter, ideally having gained experience within the service/engineering industry. Reporting to the Procurement Manager, your primary focus will be to provide commercial procurement support to our valued stakeholders and customers at Yokogawa UK. This is a diverse role and requires you to optimise the supply base, improve sourcing value, secure supply, ensure procurement controls compliance and drive procurement sustainability for our Project Procurement Supply Categories. Your remit as Project Buyer will include: Deliver procurement support across project requirements and the traditional operational needs of the business Manage and deliver project procurement requests from stakeholders, supporting revenue and profit generation for Yokogawa UK Support project site set‑up activities, including welfare and temporary facilities procurement Develop, implement and manage call‑off and frame agreements with key suppliers Build, maintain and leverage partnerships with preferred and existing suppliers Manage supplier set‑up, due diligence and ongoing supplier performance measurement Plan and execute day‑to‑day procurement activities for stakeholders, including: Defining Requests for Quotation (RFQs) using functional and or technical specifications provided by line management or stakeholders Managing the RFQ process, issuing RFQs, collecting bids, coordinating technical evaluations and completing commercial and total cost evaluations Managing supplier contract administration and lifecycle activities Managing purchase order escalation in line with agreed frame agreements and technical and commercial requirements Controlling and expediting procurement and supply activities to ensure goods and services are delivered in line with agreed timescales, terms and conditions Build strong cross‑functional relationships with stakeholders to understand and balance project and business-as-usual procurement needs. Work closely with the European procurement team to support execution of the European procurement strategy. Operate in accordance with the company Code of Conduct and Procurement Policy About your skills: CIPS qualified or working towards / willingness to undertake qualification Business Degree is desirable although not essential Proven technical/project procurement experience You will be conversant with the procurement to pay process, including supplier selection, tendering, negotiation and contracting, as well as supplier onboarding and supplier management principles Experienced with MS Office applications SAP experience preferred Stress-resistant with high attention to detail You have high integrity and ethics, with a passion for learning. Standard working hours are Monday to Thursday 8:30am to 5:00pm, Friday 8:30am to 4:30pm. We provide a healthy work-life balance with a blend of working from home and the office. There may be a requirement to travel to customer sites in Europe, the UK, offshore and overseas as required.
