Overview
Manufacturing Engineer - Manufacturing Equipment and Facilities Acquisitions, full-time, Derby. Rolls-Royce Submarines is seeking a Manufacturing Engineering professional to join our Regeneration Team in Derby to support and deliver new capital equipment projects. This role involves managing a portfolio of between 1 and 10 projects concurrently, delivering capital equipment and plant facilities from cradle to grave, and working with equipment manufacturers on specifications, commissioning, SAT and FAT testing. The position operates within a highly regulated industry where safety and environmental considerations are paramount.
There is significant ongoing investment with multi-million-pound projects involving machining, factory design and layout support. Responsibilities
* Manage Capital Equipment and Facilities Projects from cradle to grave.
* Derive system and equipment requirements and produce technical specifications.
* Contribute to safety assessments and justification of systems.
* Develop, implement, validate, maintain and continuously improve the capability of capital equipment and tooling.
* Plan and manage project activities, including risk assessment, scheduling, resources and costs, and obtain buy-off.
* Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
* Identify improvement opportunities for projects and processes using Six Sigma or Lean/CI toolkit.
Qualifications
* Manufacturing Equipment Acquisition experience, ideally in highly regulated industries.
* Project engineering experience managing capital plant budgets, specification, installation and commissioning.
* Plant layout experience and facilities integration.
* Professionally qualified engineer (HNC/HND/foundation degree or other equivalent).
* Lean manufacturing experience.
* MS Project experience.
