Overview

PAN TRADE Macclesfield, England, United Kingdom

We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner to join the Mental Health Intensive Support Team (MhIST), an award winning and forward-thinking intensive community mental health rehabilitation service. The post will be based in Macclesfield. MhIST is a recovery-orientated service that offers specialist assessment, intervention and support to individuals with complex mental health needs across Cheshire & Wirral. Using the principles of dialogical practice, the MhIST multidisciplinary team works alongside patients and their families and social networks, with a focus on meaningful rehabilitation goals, supporting the individual to work towards their vision of recovery.

As a service we value professional development, and as such provide many opportunities for ongoing learning, including quarterly team training days and protected reflective spaces. We would welcome applicants from a variety of professional disciplines, including Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work.

As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will work intensively with a small cohort of patients experiencing a range of complex mental health needs, providing a high level of value-orientated care. The service takes a proactive approach in pre-empting crisis and working to support patients to remain in the community, therefore you must be able to demonstrate excellent skills in risk management, adaptive care planning and communication skills, with a genuine attitude of care, hope and commitment. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support a holistic and need adapted approach to community rehabilitation.

Cheshire and Wirral Partnership (CWP) provides health and care services for a population of over one million people, including mental health, learning disability, community physical health and all-age disability care, as well as the provision of three GP surgeries in Cheshire. We employ around 4,500 staff across 73 sites and have services across Wirral and Cheshire, as well as Trafford, Warrington, Bolton, Halton and Liverpool. Our aim is to help improve the lives of everyone in our communities, adopting a compassionate, person-centred approach to everything we do. We are rated as Outstanding for Caring by the Care Quality Commission, with a Good rating overall. We are committed to inclusive recruitment and welcome applications from people with direct experience of accessing our services.

All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.

Before applying, review the Trusts Values and reflect on alignment with your own values. The supporting information section in your application should reflect your understanding of the Trusts Values and associated behaviours with examples from work experience and/or personal life.

For guidance, an applicant guide is available on the page. If you need further help completing your application, contact our recruitment team via email or by calling 01244 393100. If you have a disability that meets the Equality Act 2010 criteria, you may be considered under the Guaranteed Interview Scheme; inform the team of any special support needs for interview and selection.

Notes on recruitment processes: DBS check costs are deducted from salary after appointment. You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service (small annual fee of £16). New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the stated scale. We may close the vacancy early if a large number of applications are received.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

Good luck with your application. We hope to welcome you to Team CWP soon!
