We are looking to recruit a motivated and enthusiastic Mental Health Practitioner to join the Mental Health Intensive Support Team (MhIST), an award winning and forward-thinking intensive community mental health rehabilitation service. The post will be based in Macclesfield. MhIST is a recovery-orientated service that offers specialist assessment, intervention and support to individuals with complex mental health needs across Cheshire & Wirral. Using the principles of dialogical practice, the MhIST multidisciplinary team works alongside patients and their families and social networks, with a focus on meaningful rehabilitation goals, supporting the individual to work towards their vision of recovery.
As a service we value professional development, and as such provide many opportunities for ongoing learning, including quarterly team training days and protected reflective spaces. We would welcome applicants from a variety of professional disciplines, including Nursing, Occupational Therapy and Social Work.
As a Mental Health Practitioner, you will work intensively with a small cohort of patients experiencing a range of complex mental health needs, providing a high level of value-orientated care. The service takes a proactive approach in pre-empting crisis and working to support patients to remain in the community, therefore you must be able to demonstrate excellent skills in risk management, adaptive care planning and communication skills, with a genuine attitude of care, hope and commitment. The successful candidate will work alongside a multidisciplinary team to support a holistic and need adapted approach to community rehabilitation.

All new starters will commence in post on one fixed start date each month, in line with our Prepare to Care (P2C) induction programme date. P2C offers up to 3 weeks training to support you to meet the induction / initial training requirements of the role.
