What you will be doing:
Inspection of critical customer components using a variety of CMM systems and first principles measurement equipment and techniques.
Operation and Programming of CMM equipment including tactile or optical CMMs and Portable Measurement Arms. This can include both inhouse and onsite.
Deliver Metrology and software-based training to customers, both inhouse and onsite.
Generation of inspection reports detailing measured results against customer-defined specifications and tolerances.
Support UKAS Calibration activities for internal and external customers, inline with UKAS and ISO17025 requirements.
Liaise with customers to ascertain exact requirements for Calibration and Inspection and support the sales team in producing detailed technical and commercial customer proposals / quotations.
Additional Support
You may be required to support with any relevant role across the site(s) as required to cover staff holidays, absence and/or peak workload demands.
We are looking for:
Proven engineering experience in a technical, metrology based, role.
CMM programming experience, in either PC-DMIS, MCOSMOS and/or Calypso, or similar.
Desirable, experience in Polyworks (Arms/Portable)
Understanding of UKAS/ISO17025proceduresandrequirements.
Confident speaker ,for delivering training courses on occasion.
Able to interpret technical drawings ,with a high attention to detail, quality and procedures.
Strong multitasker with ability to prioritise.
PC literate, including all Microsoft Office products.
