Job Description:
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Educational Needs (SEN) Teaching Assistant to join our supportive team in a mainstream primary school setting located in Dagenham, near Dagenham Heathway Station. The successful candidate will work in a specialized unit that caters to up to 12 children across 2-3 classes.
Key Responsibilities:
Provide tailored support to children with special educational needs, primarily learning at an early years stage.
Assist in delivering the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Support the class teacher with lesson planning and classroom management.
Offer personal care to pupils, including support with toileting and other hygiene needs.
Foster a safe, nurturing, and inclusive learning environment for all pupils.
Implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and monitor the progress of students.Requirements:
Experience working with children with special educational needs.
Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) curriculum.
Ability to provide personal care and manage the needs of pupils who are not fully toilet trained.
Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for supporting children's learning and development.
