They specialise in the design and production of high-quality aluminium doors, supplying bespoke solutions to a wide range of commercial and residential projects. The role
They are seeking a Tooling Design Engineer to join their engineering team at their Somerset facility. This role has become available due to ongoing growth and increased demand. The successful candidate will play a key part in designing and developing tooling solutions, supporting new product development, and improving existing manufacturing processes. You can expect a hands-on role with close interaction across design, production, and suppliers.
Key responsibilities
* Design and develop punch tools, crimping systems, and prototypes
* Produce accurate 2D and 3D tooling designs using SolidWorks and AutoCAD
* Support prototype builds and new tooling introductions
* Monitor tooling assembly and ensure quality standards are met
* Maintain tooling documentation and internal databases
* Provide technical support to production, including process improvements and problem-solving
* Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and manufacturing standards
About you
* Strong working knowledge of SolidWorks and AutoCAD
* Able to read and interpret technical drawings and tolerances
* HNC (or equivalent) in Mechanical Engineering
* Methodical, detail-oriented, and quality focused
* A proactive problem-solver who works well in a team environment
What’s on offer
* Salary between £30,000 – £37,000, depending on experience
* Permanent, full-time position
* Working hours: Monday to Friday, 08:00 – 16:00
