Calm. Consistent. Unshakeable.
Every school has pupils who need a bit more structure. A bit more patience. A steady adult who doesn’t rise to the chaos.
That’s where you come in.
We’re working with inclusive, well-led secondary schools in Newham and Tower Hamlets who are looking for Behaviour Management Support staff to work closely with pupils who need additional guidance to stay focused and engaged.
This isn’t about being the “strict one”. It’s about building trust, setting boundaries, and helping young people make better choices.
-----------------------------------
What you’ll be doing:
* Supporting pupils with behavioural or SEMH needs
* Providing 1:1 and small group interventions
* De-escalating situations calmly and confidently
* Working alongside Heads of Year, SENCOs, and safeguarding leads
* Helping students regulate emotions and re-engage with learning
* Acting as a positive role model throughout the school day
You’ll be the reset button. The safe space. The adult who doesn’t give up on them.
-----------------------------------
We’d love to hear from you if you:
* Have experience working with secondary-aged young people
* Have supported pupils with SEMH, SEND, PRU, or alternative provision experience
* Stay calm under pressure
* Set clear boundaries while remaining empathetic
* Believe behaviour is communication
Youth work, sports coaching, mentoring, TA experience, or previous behaviour support roles all translate brilliantly here.
-----------------------------------
The schools:
* Clear behaviour policies that are followed consistently
* Strong pastoral teams
* Supportive SLT who value inclusion
* Diverse, vibrant East London communities
* Training and progression opportunities
These settings understand that behaviour support isn’t an “add-on”. It’s essential.
