Job Title: Housing Officer – Level 2 Client: Notting Hill Genesis Location: Barnet patch (Hybrid: 3 days in King’s Cross office / 2 days on patch) Contract: 3 months temp initially (with potential to extend) Rate: £20.84/hr PAYE | £27.56/hr Umbrella Start: ASAP Overview: Notting Hill Genesis is seeking a capable and experienced Housing Officer to take responsibility for a Barnet-based patch of approximately 190 units. The role will be a 3-month temporary post with potential for extension. You’ll be expected to manage tenancies, estates, and rent arrears, and act as a key point of contact for residents. Key Responsibilities: Tenancy Management Act as main contact for tenants within your patch Conduct sign-ups, tenancy reviews, successions, and mutual exchanges Address breaches of tenancy and manage associated enforcement processes Carry out property inspections and visits (routine & ad hoc) Estate Management Monitor standards of communal areas and respond to issues Liaise with repairs teams and contractors on communal repairs Support general neighbourhood management duties Rent and Arrears Work with income officers on arrears collection Manage low-level arrears and escalate enforcement where needed Promote digital payment options and financial support pathways ASB and Community Safety Respond to low/medium-level ASB Liaise with police, local authorities and partner agencies Maintain accurate logs and support formal interventions as necessary Resident Engagement Deliver excellent customer service Actively engage with residents to resolve issues collaboratively Promote self-service, digital channels, and community engagement activities Person Specification: Essential: Previous experience as a Housing Officer in a social housing environment Strong knowledge of tenancy law, housing policy and safeguarding Comfortable managing a high-volume patch Excellent interpersonal, organisational, and case management skills Tech-savvy with experience using housing systems and field-based tools Desirable: Familiarity with Barnet communities Understanding of local authority processes and community support networks Ability to hit the ground running with minimal supervision This is a fantastic opportunity to join one of London’s largest housing providers.
