We are doris 👵🏻, a startup in the growing International Schools sector that’s helping parents worldwide make one of their biggest decisions of their lives: find the right school for their children. We currently work with schools across Asia, but are now ready to grow our presence across the EMEA region.
We can’t do that without a Director of Partnerships (EMEA) to help us put our platform on the radar of as many schools as possible. If you join us, you’ll get to step up, lead initiatives end-to-end, and have a real voice in shaping our growth.
We don’t mind where you work from and how, as long as the job is done. You can work from anywhere in the Middle East (with the possibility of being located in Europe), enjoy up to 40 days off (including public holidays), and get the kind of career development that can take you to the next step in 12-18 months, depending on your performance. The role will involve some travel - visiting schools and taking part in industry events.
What you’ll be doing:
* Leading our overall presence in the region: making links with industry influencers, taking the lead on BD activities, and driving sales of platform licenses to schools
* Managing the complete sales process, from prospecting to partnership
* Representing us at selected events and conferences
* Making tactical decisions about how you run, develop, and invest in the territory
* The role might evolve to involve broader account management responsibilities, such as onboarding and customer check-ins
You’ll be supported in your efforts by a top-class marketing team, clever software engineers, and a well defined sales process.
What you’ll need:
Startups like doris are not for everyone: while they offer a lot of flexibility and quick progression, they are fast-paced environments where things move and change quickly. To us, soft skills and adaptability matter just as much as the hard skills. We’re looking for someone who:
* Has sales experience, preferably in education (and particularly in education software), and knows how to close deals
* Has worked in, or sold to, the K12 sector and has a strong understanding of the international schools market
* Has a working understanding of: software products, GTM approaches, and sales tooling
* Wants to be in it for the long term, and is excited by the idea of taking a new product to market
* Is outcomes focussed, likes ‘getting stuff done’, and will do everything possible to make target
About the company
doris 👵🏻 is on a mission is to help every parent find the right school for their family.
The guiding principles of our mission are:
* Be transparent and impartial
* Provide clarity
* Put families first
From personal experience, we know that choosing a school overseas is a life-changing decision for families. But despite its stakes, the current experience for parents is often disappointing. Schools tend to often sound the same, and although there’s plenty of information available, it’s often generic, biased, and confusing.
We thought it was time for a change. To solve this problem and make the experience 10x better for parents, we’re building doris. doris provides families with informative, unbiased, and easy-to-understand school recommendations and comparisons. And best of all, it’s completely impartial and free for parents.
