We are seeking a committed and compassionate Night Support Worker to support students aged 16–18 within a highly regarded specialist education setting based in Cranborne. This provision is recognised for its outstanding pastoral care, structured routines, and strong focus on student wellbeing and independence.
We are looking for individuals who can demonstrate a positive, patient, and creative approach to supporting young people with SEN. The ability to encourage independence in areas such as cooking and basic food preparation, budgeting and money awareness, housekeeping and personal organisation and accessing the local community.
* Hourly Rate: £12.87 – £14.03 + £25 per night shift worked (Actual Annual Salary: £12,573.13 – £13,706.37)
* Contract: 21.87 hours per week, term time only
* Shift Pattern: Start: Immediate - 2 shifts on (7:45pm – 8:15am), 6 shifts off
* Due to the rural location, driving is essential.
Role
A key focus of this role is your ability to motivate, engage, and participate, while helping students gradually build their independent living skills. Duties will vary, so flexibility and a willingness to support wherever needed are essential.
* Support students with their evening routines, ensuring they feel settled and safe
* Encourage and mentor young people during evening activities, hobbies, or leisure time, both on and off site
* Use verbal and visual prompts, tailored to each individual’s needs, to promote independence and offer emotional reassurance and a listening ear after a busy day
* Act as a key point of contact overnight, ensuring health and medical needs are met and liaise appropriately with parents and carers when required

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
