This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual to make a significant impact within a forward‑thinking and innovative organisation.</p><h3>Reward</h3><ul><li>Monday to Friday, 35.7hrs per week</li><li>23 days holiday increasing up to 25 with length of service</li><li>Auto Enrolment Pension Scheme</li><li>Employee assistance program</li><li>Health Care cash plan</li><li>Free onsite parking</li><li>Incredible core company values</li></ul><h3>Job Role</h3><ul><li>Leading the development and implementation of proactive and reactive media relations plans aligning with the group-wide strategic marketing objectives</li><li>Overseeing reputation management activities, including reputational risk monitoring and crisis‑response planning</li><li>Providing guidance on media positioning, messaging, and emerging issues when needed</li><li>Producing and overseeing high‑quality content for trade media in the electrotechnical industry, including thought‑leadership articles, technical features, product releases, business updates, case studies, web stories, and award submissions</li><li>Acting as editorial lead, ensuring accuracy, clarity, and alignment with brand tone of voice</li><li>Identifying compelling stories from across the business and shaping them into publishable media assets</li><li>Building relationships with key journalists, editors, and industry publications</li><li>Leading the pitching process to secure impactful high‑value coverage across trade and digital media</li><li>Maintaining and developing media lists, ensuring targeted outreach and effective segmentation</li><li>Managing the press office function, ensuring timely, accurate responses to media inquiries</li><li>Escalating sensitive issues appropriately and coordinating cross‑departmental responses</li><li>Monitoring media coverage and competitor activity, providing regular insights and recommendations</li><li>Leading monthly planning meetings to align PR activity with business priorities</li><li>Working closely with internal teams to ensure consistent messaging across all channels</li><li>Supporting with proofreading and supplying copy for company literature, website content, and other collateral when necessary</li><li>Identifying opportunities to publish positive, brand‑enhancing content across industry platforms</li><li>Ensuring all external communications adhere to brand, campaign, and tone‑of‑voice guidelines</li><li>Staying informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and media developments to inform PR strategy</li></ul><h3>Skills and Experience</h3><ul><li>Significant experience of working in a media relations role</li><li>Demonstrate a proficiency in copywriting with proven ability to produce quality content with a focus on products and feature material within trade media</li><li>Well organised, reliable and hardworking individual, able to work independently and as part of a team</li><li>Confident and able to form relationships with stakeholders both internally and externally</li><li>Experience developing and maintaining relationships with Trade Media/Magazine Editors</li><li>Confidently demonstrates a strategic input, not just execution</li><li>Understanding of the trade media landscape</li><li>Able to lead and take ownership of projects or campaigns from a media relations perspective</li><li>Proven experience to confidently develop, coordinate and execute a cross‑channel communications plan</li><li>Self‑motivated and enthusiastic to continuously improve knowledge and skills</li><li>Experience with crisis management and recovery experience as well as knowledge or managing reputational risk issues</li><li>Experience working within the construction/electrical industry</li><li>Proactive in finding new stories to support the business and brand development</li></ul></div>
