Senior Mechanical Engineer - Long-Term Contract | Liverpool (Refinery)

We’re currently looking for an experienced Senior Mechanical Engineer to work a long-term contract based at a food refinery in Liverpool. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking stability, technical challenge, and leadership responsibility on a major industrial site.
Key Responsibilities
* Take ownership of mechanical design and approval of drawings and deliverables
* Prepare specifications, data sheets, and enquiry packages for equipment suppliers
* Develop Scopes of Work for installation contractors and manage mechanical work packages
* Participate in progress meetings, interdisciplinary reviews, constructability studies, HAZOP/HAZID, risk assessments, and client workshops
* Liaise closely with other engineering disciplines and senior management
Minimum Requirements
* Degree in a relevant engineering discipline
* Chartered status preferred
* Strong background in a design and engineering environment
* Proven experience with equipment specifications (various equipment types and packages), pipe and valve specifications, material selection, welding, and fabrication
* Commissioning experience, particularly with pumps and vessel installation, is highly advantageous
