The Role:
Our Direct Tax Manager will take the lead in helping the Group manage its direct tax compliance obligations, for example with regard to corporation tax and employment tax, and will be responsible for providing sound, technically up- to- date tax advice to the businesses.
With the support of our Group Tax Manager, the successful post holder will:
1. Manage the corporation tax and employment tax affairs of the Group.
2. Have the opportunity to develop relationships with teams across the businesses, delivering high quality tax advice on all aspects of related tax compliance, reviews, and enquiries.
3. Gain excellent exposure to a diverse range of tax matters.
4. Provide support and advice on new and exciting initiatives being implemented across the Group.
5. Support any necessary accounting system changes that are necessary resulting from legislative or business change.
Essential Criteria:
By closing date for applications, candidates must have:
6. Successfully completed Chartered Tax Adviser 'CTA' Tax Qualification (member of Chartered institute of Taxation), with a minimum 3 years' post- qualification experience in Corporation Tax and Employment Tax.
7. Strong accounting and tax technical skills including expertise in Corporation Tax and Employment Tax.
8. Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel in a finance environment.
Candidates may be required to demonstrate tax experience and technical ability prior to interview.
Desirable Criteria:
9. Professional knowledge and experience in respect of Oracle or other large financial systems
10. Experience with One Source corporate tax software
