The role:
Join NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde as a Dental Nurse and be part of an experienced, supportive team delivering high-quality oral healthcare to a diverse patient population. Based within Glasgow Dental Hospital, you will work at the heart of a busy and specialist service that supports patients with a wide range of clinical needs, including complex and medically compromised cases. This is a rewarding, hands‑on role where your skills and care will directly enhance patient experience and outcomes. You will work alongside clinicians, students and multidisciplinary colleagues in a leading teaching hospital environment.
Duration, Location and Working Pattern:
• Duration: 2 Permanent contracts and 1 Fixed‑Term contract
• Location: Glasgow Dental Hospital
• Hours: Full Time (36 Hours)
• Working Pattern: Monday – Friday 08:45 am – 17:15 pm
Key responsibilities:
* Assist clinicians during dental assessments and treatment procedures, ensuring high standards of patient care
* Prepare and maintain clinical environments, including equipment, instruments and patient records
* Communicate effectively with patients, relatives and colleagues, providing reassurance and support
* Coordinate patient appointments and liaise with multidisciplinary teams to support treatment plans
* Maintain accurate clinical records in line with NHS GGC and GDC standards
* Monitor and manage supplies, equipment and stock levels to ensure safe and efficient service delivery
* Contribute to quality improvement, clinical governance and a positive learning environment
Knowledge, training, qualifications and/or experience required:
* Qualified Dental Nurse with current registration with the General Dental Council
* Knowledge of dental nursing practice within a secondary care or specialist environment
* Understanding of clinical governance, health and safety and infection control procedures
* Ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team in a busy clinical setting
* Strong communication and interpersonal skills with a patient‑focused approach
* Commitment to ongoing professional development and continuous learning
* Ability to use initiative, manage workload and work independently within the scope of practice

Applicants must hold a valid registration as a Dental Nurse with the General Dental Council and provide evidence of continued professional development.
