Role overview

Role Overview:

A Facilities Assistant supports the smooth, safe and efficient operation, security and maintenance of our clients’ buildings and EMCOR UK Soft Service day-to-day service delivery. This role involves handling basic repairs and minor maintenance activities, ensuring health and safety standards are met, and assisting with general facilities management tasks.

What you'll do:

1. Basic Maintenance Tasks
2. Maintain records of maintenance work and service schedules
3. Porterage, Mail & Hospitality
4. Conduct Basic Building Fabric Inspections
5. Support office moves, furniture setup, and space planning support
6. Support external contractors and service providers
7. Monitor and maintain cleanliness across site.
8. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations
9. Respond promptly to facilities related requests or emergencies
10. Support Reception & Security Teams

Who you'll be:

Skills and Qualifications:

11. Basic knowledge of building maintenance and repair
12. Good organizational and time-management skills
13. Strong communication and teamwork abilities
14. Ability to work independently and use initiative
15. Basic IT skills (e.g., email, spreadsheets, reporting tools)
16. Awareness of health and safety practices

Education and Experience:

17. High school diploma or equivalent (required)
18. Previous experience in facilities, maintenance, or a similar role (preferred)
19. Relevant certifications (e.g., health & safety) are a plus

Working Conditions:

20. May involve physical tasks (lifting, moving equipment)
21. Combination of indoor and occasional outdoor work
22. Possible need to respond to urgent issues outside normal hours
