GSL Education are currently recruiting a reliable and proactive School Caretaker to join a dedicated team and ensure the smooth day-to-day running of school premises in Newcastle.
Responsibilities of the School Caretaker:
* Maintain the cleanliness, safety, and security of school buildings and grounds.
* Carry out minor repairs and maintenance tasks, and ensure equipment is in good working order.
* Monitor heating, lighting, and alarm systems, and report any issues promptly.
* Ensure all areas are safe and accessible, including clearing paths in poor weather.
* Manage deliveries, waste disposal, and stock of cleaning and maintenance supplies.
* Open and close the premises daily, ensuring all security protocols are followed.
Requirements of the School Caretaker:
* Previous experience as a caretaker or in a facilities/maintenance role is essential.
* Strong practical skills and the ability to work independently.
* Good communication and organisational skills.
* Flexibility to work early mornings or evenings if needed.
* Have an updated CV and an enhanced DBS registered to the update service (or be willing to apply for one).
