About the Role
This opportunity will initially be for 12 months within the Permanence Team, with potential to move within the Children and Families Service where a post is available.
The initial role involves providing permanence through identifying and matching children and adopters. The focus is on securing early permanence by managing a child's journey to adoption from the point it is considered a potential outcome. The team seeks experienced and passionate social workers to work alongside supportive managers.
The Permanence Social Worker will collaborate with fieldwork teams during care plan twin tracking with adoption plans, complete Child Permanence Reports and Sibling Assessments during court proceedings, and ensure the child is well prepared for adoption. The role includes supporting adopters with detailed paperwork to facilitate matching, introduction, and placement support.
The Permanence Social Worker will take on the role from the point of Placement Order, supporting children through matching, introduction, and settling into their adoptive families until the Adoption Order is granted.
A DBS enhanced check is required for this regulated activity.
