Founding Commercial Account Executive

Location: London (Hybrid) | Territory: UK, EU & US East Coast


I’m currently partnering with an early-stage, high-growth data infrastructure company building the backbone for modern AI and data applications.


They’re now hiring their first commercial Account Executive to help build and scale their go-to-market function from the ground up.


The Opportunity


This is a true founding AE role, not just a closing position. You’ll play a key role in defining the ideal customer profile, shaping messaging, building outbound playbooks, and landing some of the company’s earliest customers. You’ll work directly with the founders and senior technical buyers across the UK, Europe, and US.


What You’ll Be Doing

* Own the full sales cycle end-to-end, from prospecting through to close and expansion
* Sell into Series A-C startups and mid-market organisations, particularly engineering and data teams
* Engage senior stakeholders including CTOs, Heads of Platform, and founders
* Build and iterate outbound strategy across accounts, messaging, and sequencing
* Generate at least 50% of your own pipeline
* Partner with founders and marketing on inbound opportunities
* Run deep, consultative discovery into technical environments and use cases
* Work closely with a Forward Deployed Engineer on complex evaluations
* Help build repeatable processes for future GTM hires


Ideal Customer Profile

* High-growth startups building AI-native or modern SaaS products
* Mid-market companies investing in data and platform infrastructure
* Engineering-led organisations where technical credibility and business value both matter


What I’m Looking For

* Experience selling developer tools, cloud, data, or AI platforms
* Background in early-stage or high-growth startup environments
* Proven ability to sell into technical stakeholders
* Strong discovery and consultative selling skills
* Comfortable operating in ambiguity and building from scratch
* Technically literate in the modern data ecosystem


Nice to have:

* Experience as a first or early AE
* Exposure to AI or data-heavy products
* Experience shaping GTM strategy, pricing, or process
