An exciting opportunity has arisen to join North Yorkshire Council Shared Health and Safety Service to support the council’s wholly owned company, NY Highways.

We are looking for a talented, experienced HSEQ professional to join our respected team to influence and drive forward company culture. You’ll be at the heart of shaping company culture, influencing strategic direction, and ensuring that safety, quality, and environmental standards are not just met, but exceeded.

This is to support a company, that is committed to fulfilling its HSEQ obligations and as such in the four years of trading it has achieved 9001, 14001 and 45001 standards and want to use this as a platform to drive cultural and organisational change to protect its workforce and those affected by its operations.

What are the key aims?

* Impact: You’ll lead cultural and organisational change that protects people and enhances performance.
* Flexibility: Work from operational hubs across the county, from home, or other council bases, depending on client needs.
* Support: You’ll manage a Health and Safety Adviser and be backed by a large, collaborative team of professionals.
* Development: We invest in our people, your professional fees are paid, and we’re committed to your ongoing growth.

What we’re looking for:

* A Level 5/6 qualification in Occupational Safety and Health (or Level 3 with significant senior experience in highways/construction)
* Proven expertise in implementing and managing Health, Safety, Environmental, and Quality Management Systems
* A proactive, confident leader who can inspire change and deliver results
