Are you energetic, enthusiastic, hardworking, and caring? We are looking for someone to join our busy catering team at St Barnabas Hospice.
Job Details
Working on a weekly rota system across our main kitchen, in-patient unit, and coffee shop, you will need to work independently and as part of a team.
Main duties include:
1. laying up trays
2. collecting returns from patients’ rooms
3. serving water and drinks to patients
4. liaising with the nursing team regarding meal requirements
5. preparing salads, sandwiches, and vegetables
6. replenishing stock
7. opening, serving, and closing the coffee shop
8. filling vending machines
9. washing up and cleaning work areas
10. serving patients’ afternoon tea
11. completing daily and weekly cleaning duties
Previous experience in a care environment and knowledge of food handling and hygiene regulations are preferred. Catering experience is advantageous.
You should have a flexible, team-oriented approach and be comfortable working in a hospice setting, including ward areas and patient rooms.
Additional hours may be required to cover leave or sickness, and you will need to work some Bank Holidays, including Christmas.
