We’re looking for a Head of Service – Asset Management to join a forward-thinking Housing & Communities Directorate in the North East, where you’ll shape the future of social housing and make a real difference for residents and communities.
About the Role: In this pivotal role, you’ll take the lead on delivering high-quality asset and compliance services across a substantial council-owned housing stock. Your focus will be on ensuring value for money, capital investment planning, and compliance excellence while keeping resident wellbeing at the heart of all decision-making.
You’ll oversee strategic initiatives including:
1. The Social Housing Asset Management Programme
2. Long-term capital investment planning
3. Budget responsibility for multi-million-pound housing assets
4. Ensuring timely, safe, and sustainable outcomes for tenants
Key Responsibilities:
5. Lead, manage, and inspire a high-performing asset management team
6. Deliver compliance and asset strategies that meet housing regulations and local priorities
7. Work collaboratively with stakeholders to shape investment decisions
8. Ensure homes are safe, high-quality, and aligned with long-term regeneration goals
9. Embed best practice in operational delivery and resident engagement
What You’ll Bring:
10. Proven senior leadership experience in asset management, housing compliance, or capital investment
11. Strong budgetary and project management skills
