Overview:
We are currently seeking an experienced and competent Controller of Site Safety (COSS) to support ongoing rail infrastructure works along the Rugby to Watford route. This is a long-term opportunity offered on a 6-month rolling contract basis, providing consistent work for the right candidate.
Role & Responsibilities:
* Act as the designated COSS, ensuring all site activities are delivered in full compliance with rail safety standards and procedures
* Provide safe systems of work and brief all personnel prior to site access
* Work closely alongside a PTS-qualified electrician carrying out planned 5-yearly electrical testing
* Manage track access, protection arrangements, and safe movement of staff on or near the line
* Ensure all documentation, permits, and safety briefings are completed accurately and on time
* Maintain clear communication with all relevant stakeholders, including site teams and operational control
Requirements:
* Valid and in-date COSS certification
* Sentinel card with appropriate competencies
* Proven experience working in a COSS role within a rail environment
* Strong understanding of track safety procedures and regulations
* Excellent communication and leadership skills
* Ability to work flexibly across shifts as required
