The Opportunity:
The successful candidate will join a finance team supporting a diverse portfolio including:
- Complex product development programmes
- Systems integration projects
- Product manufacturing operations
- Service support projects
You will play a key role in supporting the overall business objectives while partnering closely with Operations and Business Sector teams.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in managing reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and project accounting control processes to ensure financial objectives are achieved
- Ensure compliance with Group and statutory financial requirements
- Support effective financial management across Operations and Business sectors
- Ensure month-end reporting timetables are adhered to with accurate and timely submissions into consolidated reporting tools
- Populate monthly financial statements and support budgeting cycle submissions
- Deliver accurate analysis on project-related Balance Sheet items including Unbilled Revenue, Work in Progress (WIP), and Inventory
- Support Operations functions with reporting of actual performance versus budget and reforecasting activities
- Conduct variance analysis, utilisation reporting, and labour recovery analysis
- Lead annual rates processes for both internal and external government-related requirements
- Support multi-year budgeting activities, including recoverable hours and utilisation analysis
- Work alongside Operations leadership to monitor financial performance and implement improvements
- Act as Finance Lead for Operations/Supply & Resource Planning (S&OP) meetings
- Support external audit planning, reporting requirements, and follow-up actions
- Lead and coordinate annual internal control questionnaire (ICQ) processes and action plans
- Serve as primary finance contact for relevant inventory reporting activities including Days Inventory Outstanding (DIO)
- Maintain and continuously improve financial controls and compliance processes
- Support ad hoc finance and operational projects as required
About You:
We're looking for a passionate, driven, and detail-oriented finance professional with:
CIMA / ACCA / ACA qualification or Qualified by Experience
Proven experience in financial accounting and reporting
Strong analytical skills and high attention to detail
Ability to work independently and collaboratively within cross-functional teams
Strong communication skills with the ability to engage non-finance stakeholders at all levels
Experience with Oracle, Cognos BI, or TM1 would be advantageous (training can be provided)

Due to the nature of the role, candidates will be required to provide evidence of identity, right to work in the UK, and employment/education history. Some positions may require additional Security Clearance.
