You will be highly organised, creative, and able to plan and teach engaging and innovative lessons with demonstrated interpersonal skills. Assessing and tracking student progress to plan interventions will be a vital part of the role, ensuring all students develop the skills they need to succeed.
The specific skills needed for this post include a good knowledge of Python coding and associated modules. You should also be proficient in problem solving within a coding environment. It would be beneficial if you had industry experience using these skills and could inspire colleagues, with a desire to further develop your own skills.
You will mainly be working at the new Margate Digital Campus (opening in January 2026), where you will teach the T-Level Software Development course. This course will collaborate with Media courses in Animation and Illustration, Visual Effects, and Content Creation, utilizing the new facilities that will be installed.
Ideally, you will have experience teaching or delivering workplace training, although this isn't essential as training will be provided. You must have a positive outlook, be empathetic towards learners, and possess strong class management skills.
The successful candidate will be able to teach a range of study programs and/or courses from Level 2 up to Level 3 (T-Level) and motivate learners to achieve success in their studies.

Please note that there are two salary scale points for our Lecturer positions. All candidates will start at the introductory scale unless certain criteria are met. Lecturers typically move to the highest scale after one full academic year of teaching. Lecturers must be in post by 1st September to qualify, subject to approval. Internal applicants in the same role may qualify for the higher scale but should seek clarification.
