Overview
Due to national investment in smoking cessation, the post holder will join the smoking cessation team to provide individualised stop smoking support to women/people and families. The role focuses on public health, reducing inequalities in health, and engaging with communities to offer practical support to help people stop smoking. The post holder will work with the Smoking in Pregnancy Specialist Midwife and other team members in a flexible and innovative way.
Responsibilities
* Provide intermediate stop smoking support throughout pregnancy and the post-natal period, using interventions such as CO monitoring and Nicotine Replacement Therapy.
* Work with the Smoking in Pregnancy Specialist Midwife to deliver stop smoking support and undertake the delivery of the Smokefree pregnancy incentive scheme for those who meet the criteria, including administration of smokefree pregnancy data collection and collation.
* Engage with people in communities and offer them practical support to change their behaviour to achieve their own goals.
* Promote the general health and wellbeing of people who use the service by offering healthy lifestyle advice and support.
* Seek out opportunities to develop and implement stop smoking services in a range of health and community settings.
* Work with supervision, manage own workload and schedule, and abide by the Trust's policies and procedures.
* It is essential that the post holder can drive and has access to their own transport.
Requirements
* Right to Work in the UK: This role is not available for Skilled Worker visa sponsorship. Applicants must already have the legal right to work in the UK at the time of application. We are unable to support visa applications for this post in line with UKVI regulations.
* Competencies aligned with public health and cessation services, with a willingness to develop within this setting.
