Pier Health has an exciting opportunity for hardworking and enthusiastic Nurses to join our friendly Primary Care Network team.
We are looking for nurses to support with our current vaccination campaign.
We are also looking to grow and expand our current offer to include:
* Dressings/Wound Care
* Adult Immunisations including Covid & Flu
* Children's immunisations
* NHS Health Checks
* Learning Disability & SMI Annual Reviews
* Annual reviews for Asthma, COPD, Diabetes
* Cervical Cytology
Clinical activities will be held in a variety of locations not always GP practices. We also visit patients in their own homes as part of our vaccination programme.

Main duties of the job
Responsibilities of the role include but are not limited to the following:
Clinical practice
Participate in vaccination and immunisation programmes for both adults and children - including vaccinations for those travelling abroad.
* Provide wound care (ulcer / Doppler etc.) to patients.
Taking patient samples, swabs, blood, specimens, and checking pulse, temperature and blood pressure.
To support and advise women requesting information relating to family planning needs and those presenting for cervical cytology consultations.
Giving advice, education and information about chronic health conditions and ailments, smoking cessation and losing weight.
Documenting all patient contacts in the electronic patient record.
Ensure all training is up to date.

Prolonged periods of time spent in a sitting position at a computer screen in putting information and making telephone calls.
The post holder is occasionally required to lift equipment several times throughout the week e.g., files, boxes, or stationery.
Mental Effort
Prioritising work is essential, as often many tasks are required to be undertaken simultaneously. The post holder is required to work under pressure to meet deadlines.
Emotional Effort
Potential for distressing situations when liaising with vulnerable groups and their families/carers.
Working Conditions
You would be required to work in several different environments across the Primary Care Network.
Training and Development
All roles within Pier Xtra have an element of statutory mandatory e-learning training which will be completed within the first two weeks of employment. Any extra training required for role developed will be provided as required.
Person Specification
Qualifications
* Registered Nurse with current NMC PIN
* First level degree in Nursing
* Knowledge of wellbeing and health promotion
Experience
* Working inter-professionally
* Use of electronic healthcare records systems
* Understanding of safeguarding principles
* Awareness of infection control standards
* Minor illness management
* Triage in healthcare
