Hours Monday-Friday, 6.00am-4.00pm plus flexibility / overtime required and a weekend rota (7am-12 noon).
Reporting to the Warehouse Operations Manager, you will be responsible for assisting with the warehouse and depot operation and coordination of warehouse activities and managing the yard. It is imperative that you have excellent communication skills for this role as well as being prepared to be 'hands on'.
This role suits someone with experience that wants to develop their career in a warehouse environment and be pro active think on their feet.
Job Summary (Description of main purpose of job):
* Deputise for the Site Supervisor
* Counterbalance operator – must be willing to be trained on a Flexi license
* Supervision of our logistic warehouse operation
* Demonstrate effective leadership, active participation, teamwork, clear communication and employee motivation·
* Forward planning
* Supervise, prioritise & organise efficient loading & unloading of varying products to/from vehicles to/from warehouse areas managing the warehouse space to the size and type of pallet for storage.
* Check products tally with unloading/loading manifest, including specific batch numbers (if required)
* Supervise efficient scanning of pallets to & from racking to dispatching/loading area.
* Ensure paperwork is checked & completed correctly before any loads leave.
* Maintain excellent housekeeping in all aspects of the warehouse & yard area.
* Ensure waste is neatly collected and stored in designated areas.
* Maintain and enforce best practice for all warehouse activities, including tidiness and attention to detail.
* Organise & plan workforce throughout the shift and beyond.
* Continuous improvements of process.
* Supervise yard activities, including parking, waiting areas, etc
* Ensure Health & Safety Management at all times.
* Ensure all appropriate checks (including FLT daily) are complete.
* Take ownership of the role in terms of quality, managing and motivating the workforce through a positive performance management style.
* Ensure rigorous check of products for damage loading and unloading.
* Responsible for effectively managing all warehouse functions in such a way that provides a best-in-class service to both internal and external suppliers.
