About Hinkley Point C
The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.
Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.
What you'll be doing
As an Area Construction Manager, you will have the following responsibilities,
Provide and demonstrate a positive HSE leadership, building a strong and compliant HS&E culture throughout the whole construction life cycle of the Project.
Ensuring all site activities are undertaken safely and responsibly, and in accordance with the CDM Regulations.
Responsible for orderliness on site and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
Lead, manage and motivate the Project Construction Team through implementation of Best Practice.
Support the planning and execution of construction of a specific area on a day-to-day basis.
Liaison with all MEH Alliance departments for Construction Management, and support functions along with the Clients stakeholders at construction meetings.
Maintaining compliance to the MEH Alliance security process.
Own the delivery of the 16 week lookahead (provided by the Building Leads) and drive the performance of the construction team to ensure targets are met, issues are identified and resolved.
Who we're looking for
Do you have?
Degree Qualification (or Equivalent).
Relevant Professional Accreditation (PM, Construction, Engineering).
Can achieve Security Clearance (BPSS or Higher).
IOSH Managing Safely.
Experience working on major construction projects at a senior level.
Strong leader, pro-active and perform well under pressure.
