Clinical/Counselling Psychologist (Band 7 or 8a) Prospect Park Hospital
Are you a passionate Clinical or Counselling Psychologist looking for a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in adult mental health care? We have an exciting part time (22.5 hrs) fixed-term opportunity to join our specialist Psychological Therapies Team, working on Snowdrop Ward, a ward for adult acute mental health.
This is a fulfilling position that offers the chance to apply a broad range of psychological skills within a dynamic inpatient setting. You will work collaboratively with multidisciplinary colleagues, delivering psychological consultation, formulation, behavioural support, therapeutic interventions, and contributing to the ongoing development of high-quality services.
We welcome applications at both Band 7 and Band 8a level. The role offers a combination of face-to-face clinical practice and home working, with opportunities for part-time and flexible working arrangements.
This is a 6 month maternity cover position, with the contract end date to be confirmed once pre-employment checks have been completed. We are keen to appoint someone who can join the team as soon as possible and quickly become an integral part of the service.
Responsibilities
- Work on allocated adult acute mental health ward
- Offer psychological consultation to hospital staff (e.g. team formulation, teaching sessions, joint working, supervision and staff support groups).
- Supervise Assistant Psychologist.
- Clinical work with service users and carers involving assessment (including behavioural support assessments), formulation and interventions with varied and complex mental health presentations.
- Contribute to service improvement initiatives in a ward/community team, as well as contributing to projects arising from the Inpatients Psychological Therapies Team.
