The mission of the Global Security Operations team is to mitigate security and related operational risks to our Associates, Data, and Physical Assets. Amazon is seeking an action-oriented individual to oversee daily operations within the Global Security Operations Center (GSOC). This individual will triage, escalate, and manage responses to all events impacting or threatening Amazon.com personnel, property, or assets. They will maintain situational awareness with a global view of Amazon’s associates, assets, and reputation.
Key job responsibilities
The GSOC Manager provides critical support and timely notifications to global partners regarding incidents that impact or could impact Life Safety, Operations, or the Amazon Brand. They will assist in managerial ownership of their shift, ensuring performance SLAs are met, responses align with policies and procedures, and developing and motivating a high-performing staff. The GSOC Manager must deal effectively with ambiguity and make response decisions sometimes with incomplete information, always in the best interest of Amazon. The GSOC operates 24/7, and shift work, including nights and weekends, may be required.
A day in the life
The GSOC Manager is responsible for developing and motivating a high-performing team of Escalation Specialists. They operate autonomously, using discretion when handling sensitive and critical information, and apply sound business principles to identify barriers and initiate resolutions.
About the team
The Global Security Operations Center (GSOC) provides critical support and incident notification to global partners regarding events that impact Life Safety, Operations, or the Amazon Brand. It is the central hub for critical incident management supporting Worldwide Amazon Stores (WWAS), as well as affiliate and retail businesses. We seek an agile, adaptive, and detail-oriented leader to triage, escalate, and manage responses to global critical events.
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* 4+ years of experience in compliance program management, legal, governance, audit, risk/loss prevention, or equivalent
* Bachelor's degree or equivalent
* Experience handling confidential information
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* 3+ years of experience defining program requirements and leveraging data and metrics to drive improvements
* Professional auditing qualification or similar risk or compliance credentials
* Experience with SQL and Excel
