Project Manager - Global Programme Team
📍 Peterborough (site-based)
⏳ 12-month contract (likely to extend)
💰 Up to £40.72 per hour (depending on experience)
The Opportunity
We're looking for an experienced Project Manager to join a dynamic Global Programme Management team supporting a wide portfolio of projects across a large, complex organisation. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure across multiple business areas while working in a fast-paced, high-impact environment.
You'll play a key role in driving projects from concept through to completion, ensuring delivery on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
Key Responsibilities
Lead and manage multiple projects from initiation through to delivery
Develop and maintain detailed project schedules using Microsoft Project
Monitor progress, performance, risks, and budgets across a portfolio of projects
Produce regular, high-quality reports for senior stakeholders
Manage stakeholder relationships and ensure clear communication throughout
Maintain risk registers, action logs, and project documentation
Support resource planning and allocation across projects
Identify issues and recommend effective solutions
Facilitate meetings, planning sessions, and cross-functional collaboration
Mentor and support other project contributors where required
About You
You'll be a confident and proactive Project Manager with a strong track record of delivering successful projects.
Essential:
3+ years' experience in project management
Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
Experience with Microsoft Project and the MS Office suite (especially Excel)
Proven ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong analytical, organisational, and problem-solving skills
Experience influencing and leading teams indirectlyDesirable:
PRINCE2, PMP, or equivalent certification
Experience in resource and cost management across project portfolios
Advanced Excel skills (e.g. pivot tables, complex formulas)
Working Arrangements
Fully site-based in Peterborough
Working hours:
Mon-Thurs: 08:30 - 16:45
Fri: 08:30 - 16:15
Occasional travel to UK, European, and potentially international sites
